15th December 2025 Hiking - Walking: Around Felixstowe Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Mainly cloudy Max Speed: Distance Covered: Monday 15th December - walks ** – Around Felixstowe – cloudy and breezy. I had hoped to head over to Levington to make the most of a good breeze from the south even if cloudy for the most part and 10 degrees. The nearside tyre on our van has been losing pressure so I needed to change it which is when things started to go wrong, first I could not get the bolts holding the spare undone, I drove round to my usual tyre workshop and they could not fit me in for a couple of hours so I returned home. I managed to get the spare wheel off and then tried to undo the bolts holding the front wheel, I could loosen 4 but sadly the 5th would not budge! So that ended my chances of sailing today as I had to return to the tyre centre taking with me the 4 alloy wheels bought from a windsurfing mate to be put on, at least I did not have to have the flat tyre repaired. I walked back along the prom which was pretty miserable and when home I had time to do my exercises, I made a roll with Mag heating up some homemade soup and we left home around 12.30 to pick up the van. Our van looked cool with its new alloy wheels and it only cost £30, a really good service:) We then drove down to Felixstowe Ferry to park by the small chapel for lunch before going for a quick walk around the boatyard, the sun even briefly showed its face!
